About

I began my career in 2014 immediately after graduating from college.

I worked as an apprentice specializing in network and server infrastructure. This role allowed me to obtain qualifications in Windows Server, Network Infrastructure, and security. While in this role, I frequently designed infrastructure for web apps and it was during this time that I developed an interest in UX and product design. I realized that this was the direction I wanted to take my career in.

Fast forward 10 years, and I am now a Google-certified product designer. I have designed for clients such as the Department for Transport, the Ministry of Defence, and Transport for London.

Today, I am the Lead Product Designer for Basekit. I provide localized white-label website builders, e-commerce, and booking platforms for companies such as MastercardName.com, and Aruba.it.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling to theme parks across the world and watching horror movies.

Recent Experience

BaseKit

Lead Product Designer

April 2023 - Today I am responsible for the end-to end design of BaseKit’s white label website builder, booking & e-commerce platforms, which are in use by 60 partner companies across 40 countries. I collaborate with senior leadership to develop product roadmaps that address our customers' needs and pain points, based on my research and competitor analysis.

BaseKit

UI Designer

January 2022- April 2023 In my role as a UI designer for Basekit’s core product team, I translated product strategy into designs for new impactful products and features. I also redesigned existing products in our suite for localisation within new international markets and to meet current accessibility standards.

Tracsis plc

Product Designer

November 2019 - January 2022 During my time as a Product Designer at Tracsis plc, I was in charge of designing and implementing Tracsis's rail occupancy data platform. Once the system was delivered, it became a crucial part of the UK's rail network and received nationwide implementation after receiving support from the Department for Transport.

Tracsis plc

Software Design Consulatant

March 2018 - November 2019 I worked as an independent consultant to design products that improved internal workflows. I designed and delivered a work management system that was rolled out to field engineers nationwide and resulted in substantial cost savings.

Actavo

Design Engineer

March 2017 - March 2018 I collaborated with the Ministry of Defence to design digital products for the Royal Navy and its contractors. Projects included creating a system for inspecting and monitoring vessels using physical in put and sensors, as well as implementing a real-time electronic system for contractors to communicate ship refit information to the Royal Navy. These were subsequently deployed to the navy’s Type-23 fleet.
